One of a kind
Concrete explores the tension between appearance and reality, strength and fragility. Handcrafted from plaster of Paris, the geometric blocks mimic the surface of a material we associate with durability, stability, and permanence. Yet beneath this familiar exterior lies subtle vulnerability, questioning what is truly enduring.
The work reflects on perception and illusion: what seems solid may be fragile, what seems permanent may shift under scrutiny. It asks us to reconsider the assumptions we make about the world around us and the surfaces we take for granted, revealing that resilience is often more complex than it appears.
Concrete invites the viewer to pause within this tension, to reflect on the delicate interplay between form, substance, and expectation, and to recognise that the essence of a thing often lies beyond its surface.
